Ollie
What it is
The foundation of almost every skateboarding trick: a jump where the board sticks to the feet without using hands. Invented on vert by Alan Gelfand and adapted to flatground by Rodney Mullen.

Ollie
How it works
- The back foot snaps the tail down against the ground to pop the board up.
- As the board rises, the front foot slides up the griptape toward the nose, leveling the board in the air.
- Knees bend to absorb the landing, all four wheels touching down together.
