01What this is

Skate Labs makes Global SKATE, a mobile app for playing an asynchronous Game of SKATE by video with people you choose, and the dash at dash.skatelabs.app, where you manage your account and your wallet. These terms cover the app, the dash and our websites.

Global SKATE is an alpha release: a test version, free to play, installed through TestFlight on iPhone or Google Play testing on Android. It may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time, and games and other alpha data may be reset while we test.

02Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to accept these terms. The alpha is not directed at minors, and we remove accounts that misrepresent age.

03Your account

You sign in through Coinbase, which runs sign-in for us: with a code sent to your email address or your phone, or with your Google, Apple or X account. Whichever way you choose, it opens the same Skate Labs account in the app and on the dash, and on the dash you can add other ways to sign in to that same account.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your email, your phone and your other ways to sign in private. One account per person. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or the Community Rules.

04Two-step verification

On the dash you can add a second step to your sign-in: an authenticator app, a text message or a passkey. Coinbase runs it for us, and we never store your codes. We strongly recommend it, and we may require it before you use the wallet or other sensitive features.

Keep your ways to sign in and your second step up to date. If you lose all of them, you may lose the account, and the wallet with it: we cannot recover a wallet for you.

05Your wallet

The dash makes a wallet for your account on Base, the blockchain network: a smart wallet built with Coinbase’s embedded wallet technology on the Coinbase Developer Platform. It is self-custodial. You control it through your own sign-in, and Skate Labs never holds, sees or uses its keys. That also means we cannot move, freeze or recover what is in it, and we cannot reverse a transaction you approve. The app does not make wallets; only the dash does.

Transactions on Base are public and permanent, and the network may charge a fee for them. Check every address and amount before you approve: what is sent cannot be brought back.

You can also link a wallet you already have, by signing a message that proves it is yours. Linking gives us its public address and nothing else: never its keys, and never any way to move what is in it.

Coinbase provides the sign-in and the wallet technology, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to that part of the service.

06$SESH and PIXELBOARDS are planned

$SESH, a community token on Base, and PIXELBOARDS, a collection of 1,000 pixel-art skateboard decks, are PLANNED. Neither has launched. Nothing on our websites, in the app or on the dash is an offer to sell either of them, or a promise that they will launch, when, or at what price.

If they launch, they will not be an investment. They carry no promise of returns or of any value, and nothing we say about them is financial advice. The only official contract addresses will be the ones shown on skatelabs.app on the day they launch, and we never announce anything by direct message. Separate terms will cover them then.

You will never need $SESH, PIXELBOARDS or a wallet to play Global SKATE.

07Skating is dangerous — skate within your limits

Skateboarding involves real physical risk. You alone decide what tricks to attempt, where, and when. Skate Labs does not direct, encourage, or supervise your skating, and you participate entirely at your own risk. Obey local law, respect private property, and wear protection where appropriate.

08Your content

You keep ownership of the videos and content you record. You grant Skate Labs the limited license needed to store, process, and show that content to the people the product is designed to show it to: your opponent in a game, and moderators reviewing reports or disputes. We do not publish your game videos publicly.

09Fair play

Official attempts must be recorded in the app, in one take, as the app enforces. Attempting to bypass capture rules, falsify results, or abuse disputes is grounds for removal from the alpha.

10No warranty

The alpha, the dash and the wallet features are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do not run Base or Coinbase’s services and are not responsible for their outages or errors. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skate Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for losses from transactions you approve, or for injury arising from your decision to skate.

11Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Settings, then Account, then Delete account. It takes effect immediately and signs you out everywhere. The Privacy Notice lists what is destroyed and the few records that stay without your name.

Deleting your Skate Labs account does not touch the blockchain. Anything in your wallet stays at its address, and we cannot move it for you, so move what you want to keep before you delete.

12Ending or changing the service

We may modify or discontinue the alpha, and either of us can end your participation at any time. When these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Sections that by their nature should survive (content license for moderation records, liability limits) survive termination.
